Tennis U18 Championship kicks off in Sweida

Sweida, SANA – Competitions of the 2nd Central U18 Tennis Championship started on Friday in Sweida province with the participation of about 60 players from 5 provinces.

The event is organized by the Syrian Tennis Federation in cooperation with the Executive Committee of the General Sports Union in Sweida. The championship will be concluded on Sunday.

The players, who come from the provinces of Damascus, Damascus Countryside, Hama, Lattakia and Sweida, will play by tournaments divided into divisions for under 18 years, under 14 years, and under 10 years.

Member of the Syrian tennis Union Shadi Zahr Eddin told SANA reporter that the Championship includes a nationals-level athletes, extending thanks to Sweida Governorate for the cooperation and facilitations provided to make the event a success.

In turn, member of the Executive Committee of the General Sports Union in Sweida Ehsan al-Abbas stressed the importance of holding such events, highlighting the need to expand them to include all provinces.
