Funeral ceremony for Tehran attacks’ victims held…Ambassador Mahmoud conveys President al-Assad’s condolences and solidarity

Tehran, SANA- A solemn funeral ceremony was held in Tehran on Friday for the victims of the recent terrorist attacks hit the country.

On Wednesday, two terrorist attacks targeted the headquarters of the Iranian Shura Council and the shrine of late Imam Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in the capital Tehran, leaving a number of innocent citizens killed or injured.

The funeral ceremony was attended by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani and Judiciary Chief Sadeq-Amoli Larijani in addition to senior political officials and military leaders and a large crowd of Iranian citizens.

Syrian Ambassador in Tehran, Adnan Mahmoud also participated in the funeral and convoyed the deepest condolences, sympathy and solidarity of President Bashar al-Assad and the Syrian people to the Eminence of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, President Rouhani, Speaker of the Shura Council and to the Iranian people.

The Ambassador affirmed that Syria and Iran are in the same trench in the fight against terrorism with the allies until eliminating it and defeating its schemes in order to achieve security and stability for the peoples of the region.

For his part, President Rouhani thanked President al-Assad and the Syrian people for their stances towards Iran, stressing that this terrorist crime will increase the determination and will of the Iranian people to fight terrorism and continue to support Syria in its war against terrorism until it is completely eradicated and security and stability restored.
