Syria’s Taim al-Azmeh wins second place in singles at 2017 Qatar Asian Junior U14 Tennis Tournament

Doha, SANA – Taim al-Azmeh of the Syrian national U-14 tennis team won the second place in the singles competitions at the 2017 Qatar Asian Junior U14 Tennis Tournament, organized in cooperation with the Asian Tennis Federation.

Al-Azmeh lost to the Qatari Rashed Nawaf in the match that took place on Friday.

Yaman Naghnagh of the national team won the third place after his rival, the Jordanian Abdullah Shalbaia, pulled out of the game.

Earlier on Friday, al-Azmeh and his partner Aous Abu Hassoun won the first place in the doubles competitions after beating the Qatari double team Rashed Nawaf and Ibrahim Sleiti in the final game.

The Syrian national U-14 tennis team’s participation in this tournament is important in terms of allowing them the opportunity to prepare for the World Juniors Boys Final Qualifiers in Thailand, March 20 to 25.
