Moscow, SANA- Russian Upper House Speaker Valentina Matvienko considered that terrorism problem in Syria and the Middle East can only be resolved by real military cooperation between Russia and the US.
Matviyenko said at the Valdai Discussion Club’s Middle East Dialogue on Monday that only the people of Syria have the right to determine their future, noting that the condition of the departure of the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad as the main issue for solving the crisis in Syria is unacceptable by Russia.
“We have always thought and continue to think that demands for Syrian President Bashar Assad’s immediate departure as the chief recipe for resolving the Syrian conflict are unacceptable. Only the Syrian people must decide the fate of their state via democratic means,” Matvienko added.
