London, (SANA) –
A new scientific study showed that most of the British people are the grandchildren of farmers who lived in the Near East thousands of years ago. The place is known today as Syria and Iraq.
The British Daily Mail said that the DNA analysis of more than 2000 Europeans proved that there are genes similar to those of the Near East people.
The study added that 80 per cent of European people have those genes.
Professor Mark Gobling who directed the study said that some of those farmers came from the Near East to settle with the local tribes who had new and developed means of cultivation.
The Near East was the cradle for several empires such as the Assyrian and the Babylonian empires.
