Free Health Services Provided to Terrorist Attacks' Victims in Idleb

May 01, 2012

DAMASCUS, (SANA)- The Health Ministry asked the Health Department in Idleb province to immediately work for providing all health and medical services and needs for free for the sick citizens living in the areas which were targeted by the two terrorist bombings which took place on Monday, including treatment, medicines and vaccines.

Minister of Health, Wael al-Halqi, told SANA that drugs for chronic and common diseases and medicines and vaccines for children are to be made available directly and free of charge for the patients in the areas affected by the terrorist blasts.

This measure comes in the framework of alleviating health and psychological pressures on the patients living in the targeted areas and the Ministry's duty to provide the health care requirements for the citizens and securing health security in society," Minister al-Halqi said.

He added that this measure acquires more importance particularly in light of the terrorist groups' continuous targeting of the health institutions and cadres, making it hard for offering the primary health care at some health centers.

Idleb province on Monday was hit with two suicide terrorist attacks in Hanano Square and Carlton Street, which claimed the lives of eight civilian and law enforcement members and caused injury to 100 others, mostly civilians.
