DAMASCUS, (SANA) – Minister of Health, Dr. Wael al-Halaqi, discussed with a delegation of the High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Syria means of boosting cooperation between the two sides.
Dr. al-Halaqi stressed that the Ministry is exerting efforts to provide health services to citizens under the current circumstances, pointing out that the government is annually allocating much money to develop the health services in Syria.
He hailed the role of the local community in Syria in the health sector, particularly in providing medical requirements and spare parts after the oppressive sanctions which affected the health sector.
For his part, Head of the UNHCR delegation, Ayman Gharaybeh, expressed appreciation of the efforts exerted by the Syrian Government to improve the life conditions of refugees.
In the same context, Minister al-Halaqi discussed with the Iranian Ambassador in Damascus Mohammad Riza Raouf Shaibani means of developing cooperation between the two countries in the health sector.
