DAMASCUS COUNTRYSIDE, (SANA) – The archeological mission working in Tal Humeira in Deir Ateih, Damascus Countryside, has finished its excavation season for this year, discovering a number of residences whose foundations were built on stone bases, in addition to pottery vessels and shards.
Head of the mission, Mahmoud Hamoud, clarified that these residences date back to different historical periods from 1000 BC , the eighth and ninth centuries BC and the end of the second millennium BC.
Hamoud pointed out that the mission found pottery shards with Aramaic inscriptions, adding that a rounded seal engraved with human and animal figures was also among the findings.
Stone troughs, jars, and seals were also found in the site according to Hamoud.
