PROVINCES,(SANA) - In the framework of targeting the national expertise, an armed terrorist group on Thursday detonated an explosive device in the car of the master of Jaber bin Hayyan school in Aleppo, Mohammad al-Freij, causing his martyrdom.

SANA reporter quoted a source in the province as saying that al-Freij was martyred when the explosive device went off as he was getting on his car in front of his house in Hanano area.

National Basketball Team's Member Injured by Terrorists' Gunfire in Damascus Countryside

In Ashrafiat Sahnania district in Damascus Countryside, an armed terrorist group attacked Syrian national basketball team's member, Basel Mohammad Raiya in front of the a school in which he was exercising, causing him serious injuries.

SANA reporter quoted a source at the Police Command in the province as saying that terrorists driving three cars besieged the basketballer's car and opened fire at him, hitting him six times. The source added that Raiya was taken to hospital where he had a surgery and is now in a stable condition.

Raiya won six local tournaments as a member of al-Wahda Basketball Club and four at the Republic's Cup. He also won the title of Asia Champions in Malaysia in 2003.

 Authorities Seize Car Loaded with Weapons in Idleb Countryside

The competent authorities seized a car on Aleppo-Lattakia highway, north Saraqib city in Idleb, loaded with various kinds of weapons, ammunition and communication devices.

SANA reporter quoted a source in Idleb Province as saying that Kalashnikov machineguns, ammunition, remote-control detonation device, 11 Thuraya phones, were confiscated in the seized-Toyota car, in addition to various kinds of telecommunication devices, 63 wireless alarm devices and a large amount of fuses used in manufacturing explosive devices and keys for opening doors and metal safes.

Armed Terrorist Groups Sabotage and Steal Public Properties in Deir-Ezzor

An armed terrorist group opened fire on a water pump station that supplies al-Jafra oil fields and al-Tabyya Gas Factory with water in al-Sabha site in Deir-Ezzor Province, what makes the station stop.

SANA correspondent in the Province was informed that the armed terrorist group sabotaged and set fire to the equipment and offices, stole the furniture and blocked the road leading to the station to prevent the competent authorities from reaching to the site.

On other hand, the source pointed out that armed terrorist groups stole two levers of Deir-Ezzor Electricity Company and a car of SADCOP Petrol Station to use it in sabotage and terrorist acts.

Tow Law-Enforcement Members Martyred, Others Injured by Fire of Gunmen in al-Mohassan, Deir Ezzor

An armed terrorist group attacked law-enforcement forces in al-Mohassan area, in Deir Ezzor Provence. The attack led to the martyrdom of two and the injury of others. \

SANA reporter quoted a source at the Province as saying that the martyrs are Abdullah Ali Hourieh and Ahmed Yassin Hajj Ali.

Two Charge Devices Dismantled in Hama

In Hama, the engineering unites dismantled two explosive devices planted by an armed terrorist. One of the devices was planted near Mahmoud Othman Mosque, east of the national hospital and the other one in al-Jalaa street.

An official source said the two explosive devices were prepared to explode by a remote to target passer-by cars and citizens.

244 Persons in Hama Hand Themselves and Their Weapons in to Authorities

Two hundred and forty four men whose hands weren't tainted by the blood of the Syrians handed themselves in to the authorities along with their weapons to return to their normal life in Hama Province, an official source told SANA.

The source said that the authorities settled the legal conditions of those who turned themselves in, as they vowed not to take up arms again or return to the sabotage acts or do anything that could harm the security and safety of the homeland. 

Authorities Foil Terrorist Group Infiltration Attempt from Lebanon

In Tartous, the competent authorities have foiled an infiltration attempt by an armed terrorist group from the Lebanese territories, near the Lebanese village of Sheikh Ayyash into Syria at the site of al-Hasneh, in Tartous countryside.

Two of the competent authorities who are Danial Mohammad Atef and Mahmoud Safi Sa'oud were wounded in the clash while members of the terrorist group fled to the Lebanese territories.
