Security and Safety Restored to Baba Amro Neighborhood in Homs, Locals Relate Details on Crimes Committed by Terrorists

Mar 03, 2012

HOMS, (SANA) – The authorities restored security and safety to Baba Amro neighborhood in Homs, ridding it of members of armed terrorist groups who ran amok in it and committed murder and vandalism, turning the locals' life into a living hell.

A number of locals related some details about the crimes of these terrorist groups, saying that the terrorists erected roadblocks and barricades in the streets, paralyzing their movement and preventing them to go to work by force, in addition to threatening, displacing and killing those who reject their ways.

They said that the terrorists occupied schools, medical centers and public establishment by force of arms, turning them to centers for killing and torture, adding that the terrorists also took over some houses in the neighborhood and kicked their occupants out, transforming the houses to lairs where they planned their attacks.

The locals also said that the terrorists forced them to participate in protests, and that those who didn't follow their orders were killed or tortured, stressing that they didn't date leave their homes because they could have been shot at any time by the terrorists lurking on rooftops and wandering the streets.

They expressed relief after the neighborhood was rid of terrorists, saying that they feel safe again.
