Syria's National Tennis Team Comes First in Davis Cup Tournament in 3rd Group

DAMASCUS, (SANA)- Syria's national men's tennis team won the first place in Davis Cup Tournament within the third Asian/Oceanian group which concluded activities on Sunday in Tehran.

The Syrian team won the first place after beating the teams of Bangladesh, Malaysia and Oman 3-0.

In the semi-finals, Syria won 2-1 over Iran and 3-0 over Kuwait, the two top teams in the second group.

Thus, the Syrian team has qualified to the second Asian group in 2013 with the players Mark Abdul-Nour, Issam al-Tawil, Majdi Saleem and Amer al-Nao.
