Homs, Central Syria (SANA) – Ali Mahmoud Suleiman is the first Syrian citizen who has donated blood 170 times.
The 50-year-old Suleiman told SANA in a statement Wednesday "I believed in donating blood as a human duty and its important role in saving patients' lives."
On his health, he said" I enjoy a good health and hemoglobin. My nourishment mainly depends on lunch with light breakfast and dinner."
Suleiman donated blood 14 times in 1982 and12 times in the next year. In 2002, he underwent two surgeries after damaging his backbone in a car accident.
He seeks to enter Guinness Book of World Records and set new blood donation record.
Suleiman was honored in his hometown Homs, central Syria, during a celebration held on Monday on the occasion of World Blood Donor Day.
