Syrian Orchestra Bids Farewell to 2011

DAMASCUS, (SANA) – The Syrian Symphony concluded its 2011 performances with a concert featuring a variety of compositions combining eastern and western musical styles with the participation of violinists Mayyas al-Yamani and Maria Arnaout at Dar al-Assad for Music and Arts in Damascus.

The concert began with the soundtrack of the movie "Windows of the Souls" written by Hazem al-Aani and composed by Mayyas al-Yamani, followed by pieces titled "Memories from Syria."

The concert also featured several soundtrack music pieces and a dance music piece inspired by Polka music, concluding with a three-part piece inspired by Arab culture and mythology.
