Berlin, (SANA) – The talks of Syrian Minister of Finance Mohammad al-Hussein and Head of Foreign Relations Office at al-Baath Party Regional Leadership Haitham Satayhi with German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble and Minister for Transport, Construction and Urban Development Peter Ramsauer on Friday focused on enhancing cooperation in banking and finance between Syria and Germany.
The meeting between al-Hussein and Satayhi with German Foreign Ministry State Secretary Wolf-Ruthart Born dealt with bilateral relations and Syria's pivotal role under the leadership of President Bashar al-Assad in solving Mideast problems to preserve stability in the region.
Al-Hussein and Satayhi also met Chairman of the Finance Committee of the German Parliament and Director of the German Institute for International and Security Affairs Volker Perthes.
Talks dealt with the economic reform and development process in Syria over the last ten years. They also reviewed Syria's and President al-Assad's vision on the future of the Middle East and Syria's essential role in the region.
The Syrian delegation, including senior finance officials at the People's Assembly, started on Friday an official visit to Germany upon the invitation of the German government.
