Kuwait, (SANA) – Preparatory meetings of the Syrian- Kuwaiti Ministerial Committee, which will be held next Wednesday, started activities in the Kuwaiti Capital on Monday.
Director of the Syrian Prime Minister's Office Tayseer al-Zoubi, who heads the Syrian side, stressed the importance of these meetings in boosting Syrian-Kuwaiti investment, economic and industrial cooperation and upgrading bilateral relations to achieve Arab economic integration and consolidate the joint Arab action.
He called for following up on the signed agreements and signing new ones to help develop the brotherly relations between the two countries.
He indicated to the important role of businessmen, investment partnerships and joint cooperation in overcoming obstacles and increasing Syrian-Kuwaiti trade volume.
For his part, Kuwait Finance Ministry's Assistant Under-secretary for Economic Affairs Sami Al-Saqabi stressed the importance of upgrading bilateral relations to meet the aspirations of the two countries.
The committee reviewed the current Syrian-Kuwaiti cooperation and agreed to form sub-committees to set up new work mechanisms that would enhance cooperation in economy, trade, transport, higher education and customs.
