Arrival of the Lebanese Kidnapped in Syria Delayed for Logistic Reasons

May 26, 2012

BEIRUT, (SANA)- Lebanese Interior Minister Marwan Charbel said that the Lebanese kidnapped in Syria, had been delayed for "logistical reasons" and would reach Lebanon in hours from Turkey.
"They are in good health, and they were being questioned by Turkish officials," Charbel told reporters at Beirut airport on Saturday.
For their part, Leaderships of Amal Movement and Hizbollah Party said that the process of restoring the kidnapped runs well without specifying a date for their arrival.
The two leaderships added, in statements,  that "following the communications that have been made on high levels we stress that the  process runs well … the kidnapped are safe.. the delay was for logistic reasons."
For their part, families and relatives of the Lebanese kidnapped in Syria held the Turkish government responsible for the return of the kidnapped safely as soon as possible.
In a statement, they called on the international community to play its role in ending this humanitarian issue.
