Iranian Assistant President for International Affairs Stresses Strategic Relations with Syria

May 21, 2012

TEHRAN, (SANA) – Iranian Assistant President for International Affairs  Said Lau stressed on Monday the importance of the strategic Syrian-Iranian relations and the necessity of boosting them in various fields including the health and medical sectors.

During a his meeting with Minister of Health, Dr. Wael al-Halki, in Tehran, Lau denounced the terrorist attacks and the misleading media campaign targeting Syria's security and stability.

He expressed his country's readiness to cooperate and offer assistance and experience to the health sector in Syria.

For his part, Minister al-Halki pointed out that the health sector in Syria was targeted by the armed terrorist groups which are attacking the Syrian people and the infrastructure in Syria.

He added that a fierce campaign has been launched against Syria because of its people's steadfastness and rallying around President Bashar al-Assad in his ongoing reform process.
