Arab Parliament Voices Support to Annan's Mission in Syria, Reiterates Rejection of Israeli Practices against People of Occupied Syrian Golan

CAIRO, (SANA) – The Arab Parliament stressed support to the mission of the UN Special Envoy to Syria, Kofi Annan, to find a peaceful settlement to the crisis in Syria.

Concluding activities of its first regular session on Tuesday, the parliament condemned the bombings and all acts of violence in Syria which claim the lives of innocent civilians, calling for the need of making the UN observer mission a success and cooperating with them to halt violence by all sides.

Regarding the Israeli practices in the occupied Syrian Golan, the Parliament reiterated rejection of Israel's suppressive procedures against people of the occupied Golan, denouncing the Zionist military maneuvers in Golan as a military threat to drag the region into a comprehensive war that affect the Arab national security.

The Arab Parliament stressed the necessity of commitment to the Palestinian reconciliation to form the national accord government, stressing solidarity with the Palestinian prisoners in their hunger strike at the Israeli jails in rejection of the occupation's inhuman practices.

It called for releasing all Arab And Palestinian prisoners, calling upon the Red Cross International Committee in Geneva, the UN Commissioner for Human Rights and the Human Rights Council to shoulder their legal and humanitarian responsibilities towards the prisoners and expose the Israeli violations against the Arab and Palestinian prisoners.
