BUCHAREST, (SANA) – The Romanian Foreign Ministry on Wednesday said that carrying out the agreements signed with Syria on the extradition and transportation of convicts and combating organized crime – which the Romanian Parliament approved on Tuesday – are dependent on the approval of the Syrian side.
In a statement, the Ministry said that these three agreements, which were signed in November 2010, don't apply unless the Syrian government approves them, adding that the steps taken against Syria by the European Council don't prohibit the signing of international agreements.
One of the agreements stipulates for cooperation in law-enforcement and peacekeeping, while the other two cover the extradition and transport of convicts.
