BEIRUT, (SANA) – Lebanese Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Adnan Mansour, discussed on Saturday with Secretary General of the Syrian-Lebanese Higher Council, Nasri Khouri, the Syrian-Lebanese relations, the work of the council and the political situation in the region.
In a statement following the meeting, Khouri said that they discussed the Syrian-Lebanese relations and the importance of fortifying them in light of the recent circumstances and due to the historical, social and economic ties.
Khouri underlined the importance of controlling the borders, particularly that there are agreements signed between the two countries which stipulate for not using Lebanon as a platform for destabilizing security in Syria.
He added that there is permanent coordination between the Syrian and Lebanese armies to control the borders, pointing out that the Lebanese army is exerting all efforts to prevent infiltration operations from the Lebanese territories into Syria.
