MOSCOW, (SANA)- Italian Foreign Minister Giulio Terzi expressed his country's full support to the plan of the UN special envoy to Syria, Kofi Annan, describing it as a balanced plan.
"Italy fully supports the endeavors of Annan who proposed a balanced plan that is aimed at creating the favorable conditions for starting a political process in Syria," Terzi told Russian reporters upon a visit to Moscow along with the Italian Defense Minister.
He said his country has welcomed the Security Council Resolution No. 2042 that was unanimously adopted, adding that Italy waits for Damascus to abide by its commitments for securing a halt to the violence.
The Italian Foreign Minister noted that the situation in Syria can not be compared to that in Libya, affirming that Syria is another issue from the point of view of the international community.
