TEHRAN, (SANA) - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad underlined that Syria is considered one of the key resistance centers rather it lies on "the line of fire", and thus the arrogant West is continuing its policy of creating pretexts to put pressure on it and interfere in its internal affairs.
In an interview with the Egyptian daily "Al Akhbar" published Monday, Ahmadinejad said that all pending problems in Syria can be solved through understanding, dialogue and preventing any interference in its internal affairs.
On the US attempts to break the relationship among the axis of the resistance countries, the Iranian President said that behind the US keenness on achieving that, lies its desire to rescue the Zionist entity, yet it will never ever be able to do that.
As for the Israeli allegations that Iran has a nuclear bomb, President Ahmadinejad has noted that Iran does not possess the bomb and that Israel does, saying his country is keen to get nuclear technology for peaceful purposes.
Moreover, President Ahmadinejad said that setting up a joint defense alliance between Egypt and Iran will reduce the hegemony of the United States in the region.
