DAMASCUS, (SANA) – Head of the Federation of Chambers of Industry, Fares al-Shihabi, called on owners of medical factories to put their stores at the disposal of the Health Ministry to fulfill any potential deficit in the market's needs of medicines.
In a statement to SANA, al-Shihabi demanded the medicine factories to cover production costs without seeking profits to help produce good and cheap medicines to ease the economic effects of the terrorist sabotage acts.
He pointed out that the medicine factories which are still in service can fulfill the market's needs, provided that the government protects convoys which are loaded with medicines on highways.
Al-Shihabi considered that increasing the prices of medicines would make local medicine production reach the prime cost, adding that this decision is necessary for medicine factories to continue production.
