DAMASCUS, (SANA)- Prime Minister, Wael al-Halqi, on Saturday stressed that Syria will remain a symbol of love, fraternity, coexistence and tolerance between all the holy religions.
Al-Halqi was speaking during a meeting with Gregory III Laham, the Greek Catholic Patriarch of Antioch and All the East.
The Premier highlighted the important role of clergymen in consolidating the culture of dialogue and renunciation of violence and extremism so as for peace and security to prevail in Syria.
During the talks, al-Halqi indicated the significance of the consultative meetings currently held by the government with the various political forces and spectrums of the Syrian society that are willing to get engaged in the political process.
In parallel, the Premier added, the government is working to ensure all the living requirements for the citizens, stressing that the Syrian economy is able to face all the challenges and foil the attempts of those who bet on its collapse.
Al-Halqi expressed his appreciation of the firm national stances of Patriarch Laham that indicate love and loyalty to homeland Syria to get it out of the crisis it is going through.
For his part, Patriarch Laham stressed the support of the Church of Antioch to the political program as being the only way out of the crisis.
