LATTAKIA, (SANA) – Governor of Lattakia, Suleiman al-Nasser reviewed with a delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) means of helping displaced people who left their areas due to the practices of the armed terrorist groups.
Al-Nasser called for increasing aid to cover the needs of the largest number of displaced families, pointing out to the cooperation between the government and the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) to provide citizens with their requirements.
The ICRC Food Security Coordinator said that the ICRC has been working in Syria for two years and cooperated with the SARC to know the needs of the displaced people and their situation to meet their humanitarian demands.
He pointed out to the ICRC efforts to expand the aid operations and include the most affected areas such as Damascus Countryside and the countryside of Idleb.
The ICRC delegation is scheduled to visit the temporary shelter centers in the Sports City today and al-Ramel al-Janoubi in Lattakia on Friday.
