DAMASCUS, (SANA) – Prime Minister, Dr. Wael al-Halqi stressed the importance of effective communication among institutions and citizens to enhance national unity in the face of all challenges and difficulties.
Chairing the Cabinet session on Tuesday, the Premier stressed the need for intensifying efforts to provide citizens' basic needs and taking necessary measures to ensure delivering them to all areas and provinces.
The Premier reviewed the government's measures in regard to the implementation of the political program to solve the crisis and the meetings held with political forces and parties with the aim of launching national dialogue.
The Cabinet hailed the sacrifices of the Armed Forces and their steadfastness to restore security and stability to the homeland and confront the armed terrorist groups.
Minister of State for National Reconciliation Affairs, Ali Haidar, briefed the Cabinet on dialogue sessions and meetings held with political forces and social figures in provinces of Daraa, Homs, Hama and Lattakia which came within the framework of encouraging national dialogue and reconciliation.
He presented a review on the situation of some areas which have been cleared of the armed terrorist groups and on the efforts exerted to facilitate the return of their residents and meeting their needs.
The Cabinet discussed the economic situation in the country in addition to means of providing main food materials and petroleum.
Later on, Minister of Telecommunication and Technology, Imad Abdul-Ghani al-Sabouni briefed the Cabinet on what has been achieved in terms of launching the third operator of mobile communications.
