Shia Imami Ismaili Council Stresses Support to Syria

DAMASCUS, (SANA) – His Highness Prince Aga Khan Shia Imami Ismaili Council for Syria stressed its support to the homeland, voicing rejection of foreign intervention and all conspiracies which aim at undermining security and sovereignty of Syria.

The council announced, in a statement, that it will join the Syrian people in marking the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).

The statement referred to the bombing which took place in al-Salamiyah city on January 21st and resulted in the martyrdom of around 30 citizens and the injury of 150 others, in addition to causing huge material damage and destroying the national hospital in the city and a number of the surrounding buildings.

The statement stressed the Syrian people's standing by the homeland, adding that such criminal acts "will not undermine our determination".
