DAMASCUS, (SANA) – People's Assembly condemned the Israeli occupation authorities which continue the arrest campaigns against Palestinian parliamentarians in the West Bank.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the Assembly said that these practices constitute a flagrant violation of the international laws and conventions as they are clear transgression against the parliamentary immunity granted to them when the Palestinian people selected them to be their representatives in the Legislative Council.  

The People's Assembly called on all friendly parliaments in the world to move quickly to condemn the policy of the Israeli occupation, stressing that the Arab and international silence on the Israeli occupation crimes is considered as partnership in the crime.

The Assembly pointed out that the Arab and international media outlets are requested to work to expose the illegitimate practices of the Israeli occupation and shed light on the suffering of thousands of Palestinian detainees.
