Nov 18, 2012

DAMASCUS, (SANA) –Participants in the Higher Committee for Relief discussed on Sunday the implementation of the work plan set to provide basic needs concerning winter in the temporary housing centers.

The Higher Committee approved the recommendations of the follow-up committee, including increasing supplies to Damascus Countryside Province because of the increasing number of families who resorted to the temporary housing centers.

Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Dr. Jassem Mohammad Zakaria, stressed that the Ministry will provide SYP 40 million in the form of cash and material aid to civil associations to provide the affected families with the basic needs.

For his part, Minister of State for Syrian Arab Red Crescent Affairs, Joseph Sweid, stressed the necessity of organizing the relief process to ensure it will reach the families who deserve it.
