DAMASCUS, (SANA)- The Levant Scholars Union on Sunday condemned and incriminated the hateful Zionist aggression against the people in the Gaza Strip, considering it is part of the chain of savagery and flagrant assault on the land and sanctities.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the Union stressed that the aggression on Gaza, which has the US support and European blessing, contradicts the U.S. and European claims about the necessity of considering human rights and the peoples' efforts seeking what they call 'freedom'.

The Union called upon the world countries and the international and humanitarian organizations to take a fair stance against the Israeli aggression and work to put an end to it as well as to stand by the Palestinian people.

It also called upon the all factions of the Resistance to unify their ranks to confront the aggression.

The statement noted that the ferocious attack against the Palestinian people in the besieged Gaza Strip coincided with the aggressive conspiracy targeting Syria and the international scramble to destroy its capabilities, shed the blood of its people and keep it away from supporting the owners of usurped rights.

It  added that the timing of the Zionist assault serves premade agendas in which some Arab countries, who have sold the Arab nation's central cause of Palestine, got involved.

The Union said that what is taking place in Gaza will result in more defeats for the Zionist entity which it suffered over the last years, adding that the balance of power has shifted in favor of the resistance which has become able to confuse and destabilize this entity.

It added that it became clear that what happened and is happening in Gaza of flagrant transgressions against people and properties and violations of the international law reveal the lie of the alleged Zionist peace as the Zionist entity continues breaching all international conventions and resolutions.

The Union urged Muslims all over the world to support Gaza, calling upon those who call for fake freedom and human rights and issue fatwas to go to jihad in Syria to take brave stances towards what is taking place in Gaza and not stick to only offering condolences to the families of martyrs and the injured.

It wondered about the stance of Syria's neighboring countries who still long for more bloodshed in Syria, stressing that the path which these countries have chosen will lead to destroying the nation which should be united.

The statement stressed that Syria will always remain the real supporter to the Palestinian people till the full restoration of the land and sanctities, adding that the Zionist entity will not be able to break the will of the Palestinian people who will stay steadfast to achieve their goals and legitimate rights.
