DAMASCUS, (SANA) – President Bashar al-Assad  yesterday Tuesday issued decree No. 408 for the year 2012 on establishing a branch for Damascus University in Quneitra.

Quneitra Branch will be opened by a decision taken by the Higher Education Minister after the approval of the Higher Education Council and after providing the needed material and human requirements.

Minister of Higher Education, Mohammad Yehia Moalla said the decree came in line with the Ministry's plan for opening new universities and branches throughout the Syrian cities and provinces.

He added that establishing a branch for Damascus University in Quneitra will contribute to providing the necessary educational requirements and supervising the services and educational process in its faculties, which will help enhance the balanced development process in the region and create new job opportunities for people in the province.
