LATTAKIA, (SANA) – Minister of Information Omran al-Zoubi said on Monday that no power in the whole world can defeat Syria thanks to its people and army.

In a lecture at the Science Faculty in Tishreen University on the occasion of the 42 anniversary of the Corrective Movement, al-Zoubi said, "We believe in Syria. Syria's enemies inside and abroad don't know that our connection to our country is permanent and eternal."

He stressed that the 7000-year old Syria can't be defeated by any power.

"The Corrective Movement, which was led by late President Hafez al-Assad devoted our belief in our people and army," al-Zoubi said.

Minister al-Zoubi said that there are acts that aim at sabotaging the Syrian society and its structure, adding that the Syrian people are united not just co-existing.

He noted that the opposition, in principle, is not an enemy, adding that "National opposition members are opponents in political work, we disagree with them for Syria not against Syria."

He said that there are essential criteria for the opposition, these criteria include respecting the icons of the national sovereignty embodied in the Head of State, the national flag, the national anthem, the Syrian Arab army and the Armed Forces, adding that "Except for these icons, we have no problem with the opposition at all."

He stressed that the patriotism is clear and treason is clear too.

The Information Minister said that the 9th article of the constitution stipulates for protecting the cultural variety in Syria, adding that the Ministry is working on launching several satellite channels, including two channels in the Syrian coast and Aleppo.
