Maj. Gen. Shaar Discusses with Philippine Deputy Foreign Minister Facilitations Provided to Filipino Nationals

Aug 01, 2012

DAMASCUS, (SANA) - Interior Minister, Maj. Gen. Mohammad al-Shaar, and Philippine Deputy Foreign Minister, Rafael Seguis, on Wednesday discussed the bilateral relations and the facilitations that can be produced by the Interior Ministry with regard to the Filipino maids in Syria.

Al-Shaar underlined during the meeting the Ministry's keenness to provide all possible facilitations to the Filipino nationals in Syria, stemming from the deeply-rooted relations between the two countries, pointing out to the Ministry's readiness to discuss any relevant issue and exert all efforts to boost mutual relations.

For his part, Seguis lauded what the relevant authorities have done, particularly the Ministry of Interior, in terms of providing facilities and settling the situation of those who entered the country illegally.

He condemned the recent terrorist explosion which targeted the National Security Building, stressing his country's support to Syria.

The Filipino official congratulated al-Shaar for recovery and returning to work, saying " What has hurt you has also hurt the whole country, and all honest people in the world are supporting Syria…We are sure that your country will overcome the ordeal."
