DAMASCUS, (SANA)-Based on the Syrian government's commitment to its citizens, keeping their safety, life and properties, the competent authorities have spared no efforts to evacuate the innocent civilians from the regions where armed terrorist groups are present, an official source at the Foreign and Expatriates Ministry announced Monday.

"Contacts have been made with the leadership of the international monitors in cooperation with the Syrian local authorities in Homs to bring the civilians out, but the efforts of the UN monitors' mission failed in achieving this goal because of the armed terrorist groups' obstructions," the source said.

It added that orders were given to Homs Governor to provide all services to the citizens when they get out of those areas, but it was clear as from the beginning, the armed groups sought to pass the time in order to gain low media achievements and an international pressure on Syria at a time when the armed groups used the innocents as human shields to achieve their cheap goals.

"The Syrian government reiterates that it spared no effort to end the dilemma of those citizens whom the armed terrorist groups trade with their lives, particularly these groups have rejected all those efforts and closed all doors to end the dilemma of the families and their children," the source said.

It added that the Syrian government underlines its willingness to extract the citizens besieged by the armed groups without any preconditions and through any passage that serves this noble mission.

The source called on all sides who are capable to press those armed groups to oblige them not to target the innocent civilians, facilitate their evacuation from the regions where terrorists present, and the Syrian government will offer all basic needs for the innocents to live in dignity.
