Attempt to Smuggle Archeological Pieces to Lebanon Foiled

TARTOUS, (SANA) – Customs Secretariat of al-Ariydeh in Tartous, on the Syrian-Lebanese border, foiled an attempt to smuggle stolen archeological pieces to Lebanon.

Secretary of al-Ariydeh Customs , Diyab Shadood, said Wednesday that the customs members found 52 archeological pieces which have been stolen from a museum while searching a car coming from Raqqa province.

The car and the driver were seized.
