CARACAS/HAVANA, (SANA) – President of Venezuela Hugo Chavez on Sunday strongly denounced the two terrorist bombings that took place in al-Qazzaz area in Damascus on Thursday.
In a statement, Chavez denounced on his own behalf and on behalf of the Venezuelan people and government the terrorist attacks, reiterating his country's condemnation of the policies of interference and destabilization.
He reiterated his country's solidarity with the Syrian leadership, affirming that Venezuela is determined to continue bolstering the strategic alliance with Syria.
Chavez also offered his condolences to the Syrian people and the families and relatives of the victims of the attacks.
In turn, Cuba's Foreign Minister Marcos Rodriguez Costa denounced in a similar statement the two terrorist attacks, affirming that Cuba denounces terrorism in all its forms and opposes foreign interference and threats against Syria's independence, sovereignty and unity.
He stressed that only the Syrian government and people have the right to find peaceful solutions to internal affairs.
