DAMASCUS, (SANA) - The meeting between Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Fayssal Mikdad and Philippine Deputy Foreign Minister Rafael Seguis on Monday centered on the bilateral relations and means of boosting them in all domains, particularly in the field of international organizations.
Mikdad reviewed the latest developments in Syria in the light of the fierce attack against it, particularly the terrorist crimes committed daily by the armed terrorist groups against civilians and military members.
He explained the big strides achieved in the country in the framework of the massive reform program including the issuance of media, party, local administration laws and the new modern constitution.
Mikdad underlined the Syrian Government's full commitment to Kofi Annan's plan, pointing out that the armed terrorist groups and the countries' backing them have not adhered to it.
He stressed the importance of the national dialogue as the only means to overcome the crisis.
For his part, Seguis, underlined the deep relations binding the two countries, stressing his country's support to the political solution for the crisis in Syria under the Syrian leadership represented through a national dialogue.
He expressed hope that Syria will overcome all challenges and peace will prevail soon.
