More than 12,000 Visitors to 'Back to Village' Market

DAMASCUS, (SANA) – The first forum for eco-friendly products 'Back to Village Market' has attracted over 12,000 visitors in less than 4 days.

Executive Director of the Syrian Trust for Development, Omar al-Hallaj, pointed out that the forum has achieved remarkable success which led to attracting more than 12,000 visitors.

Al-Hallaj added that supporting marketing is an important issue, particularly after having a rich experience; however developing the standards of producers is more important.

Back to Village Market is an event held by volunteers from the Syrian Trust and for Development a number of national, economic and social activities. It started on April 18 and ends on April 22 at al-Takieh al-Suleimanieh in Damascus.

It is aimed at showing the cultural diversity and the local environment heritage; it also encourages a healthy lifestyle through resorting to the countryside and shifting from the consumer lifestyle to the producer lifestyle.

The event is accompanied by activities for children and a photo gallery representing life in the Syrian countryside, as well as musical evenings and interactive lectures.
