Cabinet: Comprehensive Plan for Reform in Various Fields, Employment Programs in Private Sector

Damascus, (SANA)- Prime Minister Adel Safar said on Saturday that a comprehensive plan for the aspired reforms will be prepared by the government in the coming weeks under three main tracks: the political, security and judicial reform, the economic reform and the social policies and the development of administration and governmental work.

Chairing the cabinet's session on Saturday, Safar announced that three committees of well-qualified administrative, technical and legal staffs with a wide participation of different vocational, popular, social and political forces will be formed to draw up the tracks of reforms.

Those committees, the Premier said, will work on studying the areas of reform in the abovementioned sectors and propose the required mechanisms and measures, including the necessary modification of some laws and legislations, and later submitting the studies to the cabinet to be approved.

In the context of the reform process and in response to the citizens' demands and needs, Primer Safar referred to the draft law on local administration which is being prepared and the Local Administration Ministry's plan to carry out the organizational planning and outlines of the Syrian cities and reconsider the work mechanisms of the building control departments in order to provide the necessary land for housing and enable citizens get the authorized licenses.

In its efforts to provide job opportunities for young people in, the cabinet agreed on the proposal of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor related to carrying out employment programs for job-seekers at the private sector companies and institutions and assigned the Ministry to coordinate with those institutions to turn the programs into reality.
