DAMASCUS, (SANA)-Secretary of the Iranian Supreme National Security Council Saeed Jalili on Sunday described his talks with President Bashar al-Assad held yesterday as 'very good.'
"The talks concentrated on two basic issues, an immediate halt to the Israeli aggression on the Palestinians in Gaza and lifting the unfair siege imposed by the Israeli occupation forces on the Strip," Jalili said during a press conference.
He added that viewpoints were identical on the necessity of working for achieving those two purposes.
"Regional and International diplomatic efforts should basically focus on stopping the aggression and lifting the siege imposed on Gaza… my country will seriously follow this matter with friendly countries and expand the frame of cooperation with other sates that have desire to intervene in this issue," Jalili said.
Earlier, Jalili held talks with a delegation of HAMAS headed by Khaled Meshaal and another delegation of the Islamic Jihad Movement headed by Ramadan Shalah on the latest dangerous situation in Gaza in light of the Israeli continued aggression on the Strip.
