Army helicopters deliver medicines provided by the WHO to ISIS-besieged Deir Ezzor city

Deir Ezzor, SANA – Helicopters of the Syrian Army delivered on Wednesday an amount of medicines to ISIS-besieged Deir Ezzor city, that were then delivered to Deir Ezzor Health Directorate.

Deir Ezzor Health Director Abd-Najem al-Obeid clarified that the medical aid provided by the World Health Organization (WHO) included 800 kg of NSAIDs, in addition to 1300 bags of serum.

Obeid stressed that the amounts of drugs available in the city are “fairly good”, pointing out that the Ministry of Health works on supplying Deir Ezzor Health Directorate with the necessary requirements to guarantee its continuation to provide free health services to the citizens.

Earlier, helicopters of the Syrian Army delivered two tons of chicken meat within the Government’s effort to deliver different sorts of food to the ISIS-besieged families in Deir Ezzor, as the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) branch in Deir Ezzor province started on Tuesday distributing food aid to the families.

The city of Deir Ezzor has been under a crippling siege by ISIS terrorist organization for several years now, with ISIS terrorists blocking access to food and health materials.

The Syrian and Russian air forces are providing these substances by dropping them via parachutes.
