Bulgarian National Assembly’s VP calls on EU to lift sanctions on Syria

Sofia, SANA – Vice-President of the National Assembly of Bulgaria Krasimir Karakachanov called on the European Union to lift the unilateral economic sanctions imposed on Syria to resolve the problem of the displaced people.

Karakachanov said in a TV interview on Tuesday that EU Leaders are the main reason of the emigration, as they promised to give the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan billions because he is pressuring them by sending refugees to Europe in a bid to procure money for himself, when in fact Erdogan himself is the source of the problem in Syria and Iraq as he is responsible for training and arming the terrorists to fight the legitimate government there.

He added that the flow of Syrian refugees is not caused only by the war waged on Syria, but also by the economic sanctions on them which prompt them to leave their homes, therefore, to stop the influx of refugees, the economic siege on the Syrian people must be lifted so that they can work and live in better conditions.

Imposing sanctions by European politicians during the past years was an irresponsible step, Karakachanov clarified, wondering which is better for Europe: lifting the sanctions imposed on the Syrian people or giving Erdogan billions?
