De Mistura suspends Syrian-Syrian talks until February 25th

Geneva, SANA-UN Special envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura announced on Wednesday suspending the Syrian-Syrian talks in Geneva until the 25th of February.

“I saw that negotiations should start, and they really started, and there should be more work to be done, not only by our side, but by the sides concerned in this crisis,” de Mistura said in a press statement.

He added the two sides showed interest in launching the political talks, affirming “we will call for a UN Security Council session and meet on February 25th.”

“I was not disappointed, we should have determination, and when we see issues run in a specified direction, we, as facilitators of this conference, will decide if it will give outcomes or not, so we have to adjust the track.”
