Solving crisis in Syria won’t be achieved except by Syrians’ will, Information Minister

Damascus, SANA- Solving the crisis in Syria won’t be achieved except by the will of the Syrians, Information Minister Omran al-Zoubi reiterated.

In an interview with the Syrian TV on Wednesday, al-Zoubi affirmed the failure of the conspirators and supporters of terrorism in Syria to achieve their goals, asserting that they will not achieve them in the future due to the resilience of the Syrian state, people, army and leadership.

The Minister hailed the true and correct relations between Syria and its friends, mainly Russia and Iran.

He reiterated that Syria was honest and open to any initiative, proposal and view which lead to a political solution to the crisis in it.

Voicing Syria’s respect and commitment to all international resolutions, the Minister stressed that the UN Security Council resolution No. 2254 outlined some details and time limits for the political process in Syria.

The political process in Syria will be a Syrian-Syrian one under the leadership of Syria and we will not allow anyone to interfere in it as the UN resolution 2254, Geneva communique and Vienna statement all emphasized respecting Syria’s sovereignty and independence, the Minister underlined.

On the US-led coalition, al-Zoubi accused this coalition of not targeting the terrorist organizations directly, describing its operations as “cosmetic and propaganda surgeries”.

On announcing the formation of Turkish-Saudi Higher Council for political, economic and military cooperation, Minister al-Zoubi said .. this council uncovers a premediated and de facto cooperation, coordination and joint operation centers between them.

Commenting on al-Qamishli explosions of Wednesday night, the Minister said terrorists are cornered and may perpetrate any other foolish action, so “we have to be careful, precise and enhance facing terrorists”.

16 civilians were killed and 35 injured Wednesday night in two terrorist bomb attacks targeted al-Shiyahi neighborhood in the city center of al-Qamishli, in the north eastern governorate of Hasaka.

The minister added that such terrorist explosions are dirty and spiteful, and attempts to revenge from our people in al-Qamishli, as terrorist explosions which targeted al-Zahra’a neighborhood in Homs.
