Syria, India discuss scientific cooperation

Damascus, SANA- Minister of Higher Education Mohammad Amer al-Mardini discussed with Charge d’ Affaires of the Indian embassy in Damascus S.R. Meena means of enhancing joint scientific cooperation between Syria and India and increasing cultural and scientific exchange.

Al-Mardini stressed the importance of cultural and scientific ties connecting the two countries.

The Minister pointed out that work in the scientific program between the two sides continues as they seek to increase scholarships, especially the higher studies and the scientific and applied specializations.

He called for organizing visits of the Indian universities to discuss the possibilities of holding twining agreements and joint scientific research with those universities.

For his part, Meena appreciated the distinguished relations between the two countries, expressing India’s readiness to offer all forms of support to the educational sector in Syria.

He stressed the importance of eliminating all obstacles on increasing scholarships offered to the Syrian universities.

He urged for participating in the activities organized by the embassy aiming at spreading tolerance internal peace among the youth sector.
