Al-Zoubi: Most Syrians who arrived in Europe fled terrorism

Damascus, SANA – Information Minister Omran al-Zoubi affirmed on Thursday that national media is fighting a real battle against misleading campaigns led by hostile media outlets.

During his meeting with the visiting Russian woman’s delegation headed by chairwoman of the Russian Spiritual Heritage Foundation of St. Paul Valentina Lantseva, al-Zoubi expressed Syria’s appreciation for the Russian support during the crisis which contributes to strengthening Syria’ steadfastness in the political and economic sectors.

Commenting on the issue of Syrian refugees, the minister stressed that the majority of Syrians who have reached Europe had fled areas that terrorist organizations took over, pointing out that European countries which sent terrorists and imposed economic sanctions on the Syrian people must take responsibility for their anti-Syria policies.

“Any Syrian abroad can return to his country anytime he wants to…The Syrian constitution does not permit the Syrian nationality being withdrawn from any Syrian,” al-Zoubi clarified.

The minister noted that media outlets speak about thousands of victims in Syria but fail to identify the ones behind it and the states and intelligence which financed and armed terrorism.
For her part, Lantseva hailed the efforts of Syrian media in reflecting the true image of what is happening in Syria and unmasking fabrications of hostile media outlets.

Members of delegation hoped that Syria will triumph in its battle against terrorism and see stability and security restored to all Syrian areas.
