Damascus, SANA – Chairwoman of the Russian Spiritual Heritage Foundation of St. Paul, Valentina Lantseva affirmed on Tuesday the deep bilateral relations between Syria and Russia, saying these ties will remain an important element on the level of international relations.
Moscow believes in the cause of the Syrian people in the face of terrorism, which was evident in Russia providing total support to Syria, Lantseva said during her meeting with Maj. General Muaffaq Jum’a, the chairman of the General Sports Federation.
She added that the Russian people will provide every possible assistance to the Syrian people and are staunchly supporting them.
Russian youth powerlifting champion Maryana Naumova, who is among the visiting delegation, expressed her happiness to visit Syria, noting that it will dedicate the next international medal she wins to President Bashar al-Assad in expression of love and appreciation of his brave leadership.
The Russian women’s delegation arrived on Monday on a 6-day visit to Syria during which they are scheduled to hold meetings with political and religious figures.
