More humanitarian aid distributed to Yarmouk displaced residents in Damascus countryside

Damascus, SANA – The General Authority for Palestine Arab Refugees (GAPAR) and the United Nations Relief and Work Agency (UNRWA), in cooperation with the Syrian government, on Sunday distributed food and medical aid to displaced people from Yarmouk Camp who fled their camp escaping the crimes of terrorist organizations, on top the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

Residents of the terrorist-besieged Yarmouk Camp in southern Damascus were forced to flee their homes in April after terrorists from ISIS entered the area with the help of Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organization.

Director General of GAPAR Ali Mustafa told SANA that the Authority and UNRWA, in coordination with Damascus Governorate distributed 1200 food baskets and 1200 bread packages to displaced people that are currently staying in the areas of Yelda, Bebila, and Beit Sahm in Damascus Countryside and in Zainab al-Hilaliyeh school in Tadamun neighborhood.

Mustafa said food, health aid and necessary needs will also continue to be provided to all displaced people from the camp.

On May 30th, students of Secondary school (high school) in Yarmouk neighborhood have been evacuated to take final exams of the 12th grade, started on June 1.
