2.7 million Captagon tablets meant for trafficking seized in Tartous

Tartous, SANA – The authorities and the Customs of Tartous seized on Saturday 2.7 million Captagon tablets meant to be trafficked outside the country.

The narcotics were intricately placed within metal-made tires that are used for heavy machinery and concealed in a way that make them undetectable by scan, Chief of Tartous Customs Fayssal Ali said.

He noted that the narcotics were hidden in 14 tires, 190,000 tablets in each.

Recently, the Drugs Combating Department arrested in Damascus and its countryside five drug pushers and seized 2 kg of Heroine and an amount of Cocaine that were in their possession.

Efforts of combating drugs in the country have been intensified over the past period with the aim to keep Syria in a position where it is considered among the top drugs-free countries.
