Homs Governor: Priority is for rehabilitating damaged areas to facilitate return of displaced families

Homs, SANA – Homs Governor Talal al-Barazi said the work priority in the upcoming stage is to provide all appropriate circumstances and services and ensure stability and safety to enable the displaced families to return to their houses.

During a meeting with Patriarch of Antioch for the Syriac Catholic Church Mar Ignatius Joseph III Younan on Tuesday, al-Barazi hailed the accomplishments of the Syrian army in which a number of important areas were cleared from terrorists, on top of which were the petroleum fields in Mount Shaer in Homs eastern countryside.

He stressed that the governorate is continuing the national reconciliation processes, lauding the efforts of senior figures and clergymen in this regard.

For his part, Patriarch Younan told journalists after the meeting that the old city of Homs has witnessed significant improvements in the last few months, adding that many of buildings there have been reconstructed and rehabilitated and that a number of families have already returned to their houses.
